CYCLE HOLIDAYS
We are a young energetic English couple that have been living and working in Italy for several years. We offer great value cycling holidays/training weeks through the beautiful Italian countryside and accommodation in a stunning hill top location with a happy relaxed atmosphere.
ABOUT USWe offer tailored cycling holidays in the Apennine mountains and fantastic areas for riding in Umbria, little known to cyclists outside Italy. Rides can be adapted to suit most abilities. You choose the level of ride you are comfortable with. We offer an experienced guide who will help you plan the routes for your holiday. The cycling in Umbria is challenging, varied and ranked along with some of the best cycling terrain in Europe. The views are spectacular and the roads are quiet – just relax and enjoy the ride!
The nearby Apennine mountains are the location for stages of the Giro D’Italia and many Gran Fondo races, the area is well known among Italian professional cyclists and a training ground for many cycling teams.
Rides take in some of the spectacular views in the Monte Cucco National Park, the Apennine mountains and areas surrounding the medieval towns of Gubbio and Assisi.
Our holidays can be tailored to suit your requirements; however, most itineraries are for a 8-10 day holiday and include 4-7 rides and 1-2 rest days (your choice of activity on rest days; local walks, sightseeing or relaxing). We can accommodate groups of a minimum of 8 up to a maximim of 30.
THE ACCOMMODATIONLuxury accommodation is provided in Il Granaio or the Farmhouse. Apartments are spotlessly clean and have comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms with powerful showers and modern facilities such as Wi-Fi. Each apartment has a kitchen, cosy lounge and dining area– the perfect place in which to relax after a hard days ride.
There is also a spectacular swimming pool available for your enjoyment (open May to September).
RIDE DAYSOn ride days, we will help you plan the ride route, provide you/your group with a detailed route map and a mobile phone. Most rides start from the farm, however, if you require transport to the start of your ride this can also be arranged (additional cost). Our ride guide will be on hand at the beginning of each ride to explain the route to you, answer questions and offer advice. You will then be able to enjoy your days ride. We will provide you with a hearty Farmhouse breakfast each day. We will also offer suggestions for lunch and refreshment breaks. At the end of the day, you can relax in the pool and enjoy a tasty, nutritious evening meal back at the farm. (Menus are created with cyclists energy requirements (and appetites) in mind)
REST DAYSRest days (usually taken on day 4 and/or day 6) you are welcome to spend the day relaxing at the farm, use the swimming pool, enjoy one of the local walks from the farm or choose to spend the day exploring a local medieval hill town. If you wish to explore, transport can be arranged to various local places of interest.
