GUEST REVIEWS “Stay with Paul and Isabel at Pian Di Cascina for an absolutely amazing holiday...” Date of review: Feb 8, 2011 Paul and Isabel (the owner/operators) have to be the most friendly and welcoming people I have ever encountered during my many holiday experiences. Nothing is too much trouble...The location is absolutely amazing; on clear days you can see for miles and miles, take in the (often snow-capped) mountain tops of the Apennines and relax in the beauty of the enveloping nature. The pool is so tranquil; you can laze around and not hear anything other than the odd light aircraft flying overhead or the chugg chugg of a tractor ploughing a field. Paul and Isabel offer too many extras to list but do have all the services you could need such as laundry services etc. It was great to arrive there and have a ready prepared truffle lasagne to tuck into after a good day's travelling. Books can be borrowed if you read all yours and there are plenty of DVD's to keep people of all ages happy. The weather was fantastic. I stayed for 30 days and experienced glorious sunshine on my first day and for most of my stay. On the last day it actually snowed! It was a sight to behold; honestly, I can't recommend this place enough, I can't wait to go back. There's plenty to keep you occupied from gentle walks and bike rides to strenuous mountaineering and cycling. There's lots of flora and fauna to keep you interested - keep your eye out for the wild boar! The surrounding towns and cities are full of life and culture, teeming with shops and restaurants. Paul and Isabel know everything about the surrounding areas and there's a guide in each apartment. If there's something you need to know that's not in the book then they will gladly tell you or find out for you. Thank you Paul and Isabel (and Benjamin, Lucy and Ollie too!) for an absolutely amazing holiday, one I'll never forget! “Outstanding hospitality and wonderful walks!” Date of review: Feb 16, 2011 In a nutshell, Isabel and Paul make you feel completely at home. The accommodation is fresh and most comfortable. I remember delicious breakfasts in the open gazing over the local valley and surrounding hills; wonderful packed lunches on walking days; gourmet meals in the evenings. Also splendid walks in the Umbrian countryside: high meadows, strewn with wild flowers, offering wide views over the countryside; following the pilgrim way into Assisi; rocky valleys with rushing streams. Being taken to start of walks and collected at the end meant we could go quite far afield; Paul was always at the end of a mobile phone for advice if required. I would highly recommend a walking holiday at Pian Di Cascina. “The most relaxing destination with fantastic service. A real find!” Date of review: Nov 17, 2010 I cannot speak highly enough of Pian di Cascina. We arrived there a few days after our wedding to be greeted by a beautiful selection of local treats that our wonderful hosts, Paul & Isabel had arranged for us at the request of my husband - as with the rest of the holiday, they went the extra mile to please their guests. The villas are beautiful - they have the comforts of home whilst looking out on the wonderful Umbrian hills. To get up every morning to a delivery of fresh bread and croissants was such a treat. The pool is wonderful - the photo on the website is completely accurate – a pool with a view! You can lie in undisturbed silence and enjoy the wonderful scenery. ... It was their helpfulness that sent us home with so many fantastic experiences. We have told all our friends and family to pay Pian di Cascina a visit. We have enjoyed some wonderful holidays but have never felt the need to return to the same place rather than try somewhere new - however Pian di Cascina is different - we cannot wait to return for more relaxation and exploration.
